Sometimes you need a single ply yarn. Any single ply yarn is going to be a graceful, exceedingly soft yarn with good drape.
When I was a kid, my Grandad used to take us fishing in Northern California. We would walk along the lake early in the morning, and my Mom and I would cut some pussy willow stalks to take back to the cabin. They were so soft and pretty! I loved them so much I even talked my Mom into trying to grow that at home, which we did with mixed success. When I first saw this yarn, it reminded me of those long ago silk-velvety “flowers” inside of the pussy willow stalks, hence the name.
The 50% silk fiber spun into this yarn makes it exceptional. It has more stretch than 100% silk yarn, but it’s still fabulously soft and shiny. Use it for the prettiest scarves and shawls.
